Saddam Hussein Will Call Michael Moore to
Testify on His Behalf
By Vic LeFrans
According to anonymous sources working on Saddam Hussein’s
defense team, the ousted dictator plans to call Michael Moore to
testify on his behalf. Saddam’s strategy is to deflect the charges
against him by putting President Bush, and his decision to go to
war, on trial instead, the source said. The defense hopes
Michael Moore will offer stirring testimony along these lines.
Also on the witness list are prominent Democrats such as Al
Gore and Senator Edward Kennedy who are expected to reassert
their charges that the president is a liar who betrayed his country
and invaded Iraq for political gain. “Saddam is counting on like-
minded individuals like Mr. Moore to help him put forth the
defense that George Bush is the real criminal here,” said the
source in an exclusive interview with Spolitics.
Saddam is about to go public for the first time regarding his
defense strategy through a press release reportedly ghost-written
by a prominent U.S. media figure. According to an advanced
copy of the press release obtained by Spolitics, the dictator
asserts, “I understand that there are a lot of partisans out there
who want to make this trial about me, Saddam Hussein. But, I’
ve said from the beginning, this trial is not about whether or not I
am responsible for brutal crimes against my people, this is about
whether or not George Bush fulfilled his National Guard duty. I
will call on Mr. Bush to answer these charges.”
