Obama’s Subsitute for True Support

Early in his campaign Senator Obama made a point to stop wearing an American flag lapel pin decrying it as a substitute for true patriotism.  So what are we to make of the shiny new lapel pin he was sporting during his AIPAC speech — this one of American and Israeli flags side by side?  Well, given that he quickly “clarified” his remarks (as he’s prone to do), it’s fair to say the lapel pin was nothing more than a substitute for true support for Israel.  At least he’s consistent on his views about lapel pins.
