What Conviction Looks Like

A lot of blogs are linking to this questionnaire to point out that Sarah Palin supported abstinence-only education or to ridicule her for suggesting the phrase “under God” was “good enough for the founding fathers.” But something else struck me about her answers that came out in stark relief when contrasted against her competitor’s responses — her straightforwardness. You may disagree with her positions, but at least she didn’t try to conceal them with circumlocutions and caveats like most other politicians. Still, we’ll have to wait and see whether or not she’ll pull an Obama and blame a campaign aide for her answers.
