Tina Fey as Sarah Palin

Perhaps it was obvious, but I did call it. Fey did a solid job with the accent and speech patterns but it was a lazy choice for her to portray Palin as a ditz. We’ll ascribe that to the leftist politics of Fey and the SNL staff (they’ve apparently been reading the same left-wing smear sites as Matt Damon). Portraying Republicans as stupid has been their MO from Ford to Reagan to both Bushes. Palin is such a rich target (she kills her own food for crying out loud) it would have been nice if they tapped into any of it. That said, Fey’s Palin was a funny counterpoint to Amy Poehler’s bitter Hillary Clinton. But why am I writing about it? Watch…watch.
